TOP 10 FAVOURITE MODELS! Number 3: Karlie Kloss

At only 18 years old Kloss has already made quite a name for herself and is currently ranked 4th on models.com for the top 50 models (woman). I love Karlie kloss for her extraordinary face and (as odd as this may sound) those eyebrows! I just feel that there is something about her that makes her looks so unique; she has a sort of...etheral beauty.

Kloss was discovered at the age of 13 at a charity fashion show in St Louis. Encouraged and inspired by a teacher at her school to persue modeling, she was signed to Elite Model Management in 2007. In Janaury 2008 Kloss made a contraversial move to NEXT Model Management.

Kloss has already been in advertisments for brands such as Nina Ricci, Dolce and Gabbana, Yves Saint Laurent, Lacost, Sportmax, Gap, and Topshop, and is the face of Lola; a fragrance by Marc Jacobs. She has become a muse for fashion designer John Galliano and has appeared in Dior and John Galliano campaigns and opened both shows, Christian Dior Haute Couture and Dior resort shows from spring summer 2010. Kloss is also noted for her unique fashion walk which has been described as 'panther-like'.

I would describe Kloss as a perfect example of the ideal 'all American girl' and her look is deffinately that of the girl next door. However, she does have the ability to look cool and sometimes quite edgy in her pictures, so perhaps she is better refered to as the girl with the exquisite face that can model and walk with all the energy of a jungle cat...who just happens to live next door.

TOP 10 FAVOURITE MODELS! Number 2: Feja Beha Erichson

I love Freja Beha's edgy look and the fact that her bone structure is absolutely stunning. She may not be the conventional beauty but her photographs are flawless. Beha is capable of of mastering any look, whether it is soft and girly or edgy and androgynous.

Freja beha Erichson was discovered by a modeling agent on the streets of Denmark. Erichsen made her debut as a model in 2005 at the fall Paris and Milan shows of Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Miu Miu (which she opened). She continues to walk the runways of New York, Paris, Milan and also London, both in the Ready-to-wear and Haute Couture seasons. Erichsen has walked for Shiatzy Chen, Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Burberry, Alexander Wang, Prada, Balmain, Balenciaga, Christian Lacroix, Zac Posen and Sonia Rykiel, among many others.

Beha has appeared in editorials for many fashion magazines, including the American, French, Italian, German, British, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian editions of Vogue as well as i-D, V, Harper's Bazaar and Purple. Freja Beha has been discribed as "one of the most-requested models" by her casting agent and is ranked 2nd on the Top 50 Models Women List by models.com. Obviously it is not just me that adores Freja, in fact she has had a number of fashion items named after her, including the Jill Stuart Freja handbag, the ChloĆ© Freja clutch, and the Alexander Wang Freja Lace-Up Stiletto Boot with Zip Detail.

For me Beha is everything I imaged a high fashion editorial girl should be. She has amazing poses, a strong face and, above all, can adapt her look so that she can become anything that you want her to be; she truely is a fashion cameleon.

TOP 10 FAVOURITE MODELS! Number 1: Barbara Palvin

Palvin was discovered in Budepest at the age of 13. In 2006 she shot her fist editorial shoot for Spur magazine, before moving to Asia where she continued to get booked.

I absolutely ADORE Barbara Palvin! For me I think it is her eyes; they are just so exquisite and intense!

Barbara Palvin has been on the cover of L'Officiel, Vogue Russia, Glamour Hungary and Jalouse Magazine and has walked in shows for  Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Nina Ricci, Emanuel Ungaro, Christopher Kane, Julien MacDonald, Jeremy Scott, Vivienne Westwood, Etro, and opened a show for Chanel.

Palvin has been desribed as a cross between Natalia Vodianova and a young Brooke Shields by Brittish Vouge editor Miranda Almond.

For me she is so much more. She is young and fresh, and has the most extaordinary eyes. Yes, she is conventionally pretty, and I know that this can be quite boring in the world of fashion. However there is something special that I see in Palvin which is why she is one of my favourite models!

Inspired Alice Glass outfit

This outfit is inspired by Alice Glasses style. I am wearing:
  • Leather jacket, Dorothy Perkins
  • Top, Urban Outfitters
  • Gold belt, Urban Outfitters
  • Velvet skirt, Primark
I could also wear tights (coloured or laddered) or leave my legs bare! I would probably wear my blue converses with this outfit to look casual, but you could also wear boots or heals and add some cute jewellery to go out in.

FASHION ICON: ALICE GLASS.

A few years back I came across the band Crystal Castles and instantly fell inlove with their quite chaotic style of electro music. I can honestly say that I had heard nothing like them ever before and I was soon listening to their music none stop on their myspace page. It was actually on their myspace page that I had my first glace at all the bands pictures and artwork for album covers and EPs.

To me the music was all about being young, reckless and quite frankly, not giving a fuck. At the age of 14 I was convinced that this was the height of all things deemed cool and so I began to use Alice Glass (the vocalist) as my fashion icon.

My fist act of capturing Alices style: purchase a pencil skirt. Luckily I did not have to blow the bank as I managed to find one in primark for under £10! I then work this with coloured tights and converse sneakers.

On top I usually wore a band top or a t-shirt with some form of motif. My favourite was a white t with one of banksy's designs on the front that I got from Manchester in an alternative store called Aflex Palace. (Aflex is actually a really awesome store and if you are ever in Manc then you should deffo check it out!) I would then tuck my skirt into my skirt and add a gold belt that I got from Urban Outfitters. I loved that belt as it was metal and had a horse design as the clasp!

My next buy was a leather jacket that I got from Dorothy Perkins for about £40! I really liked the jacket and I still wear it sometimes because it is quite a classic item. However, on some extra cold days I would wear my coat (which was longish and black and slightly remebled the one that Alice wears in some of her pictures) This was from Newlook and origionally had belt loop- but I cut them off!

Admittedly I must have looked quite odd. While most girls were in floral dresses and cute tops I was opting for a more grunge look; teaming old cardigans and band tops with pencil skirts and laddered tights. I didn't care if my clothes were dirty- it added to the look! And yet, I am not ashamed of what I used to wear! Infact my style is still influenced by Alice.

If you havn't already you should go and check out crystal castles! you can find their songs on youtube or visit their myspace page : www.myspace.com/crystalcastles
